Unlike standalone landed homes, strata-titled townhouses within approved condominiums can be freely purchased by foreigners under Singapore law.
According to the Singapore Land Authority (SLA), a foreign person is any person who is not a Singapore citizen, Singapore company, Singapore limited liability partnership, or Singapore society.
If a foreign person wishes to purchase a landed residential property, he or she is required to seek approval under the Residential Property Act โ assessed on a case-by-case basis, considering:
